The grid system on a map of the earth is made up of lines of latitude and longitude.

Parallels of latitude are lines than run across the map from East to West. There are five main lines of latitude:

The Equator
Tropic of Capricorn
Tropic of Cancer
Arctic Circle
Antarctic Circle

Climate is the usual condition of the atmosphere near the earth’s surface – the long term weather of a place
